Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana - Designer Profile
Together, Dolce and Gabbana designed a collection that was well received internationally. During 1989, the fashion duo opened up a boutique in Japan. One year later, they began their first collection for men. Dolce and Gabbana also opened their first boutique for women in Milan this same year. They also took over the Complice line for Genny Group, which had been previously designed by Versace. There are a number of celebrities who have embraced the fashions put out by Dolce and Gabbana. Madonna helped them rise to the top, by wearing one of the shirts that had been given to her as a present in a movie that she starred in. Today, some of the most fashion conscious celebrities are now fans of Dolce and Gabbana, which is also referred to as D&G. Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Giselle Bundchen, Christina Aguilera, Angelina Jolie, Kylie Minogue, and Ashanti are just a few of the celebrities which have been seen wearing Dolce and Gabbana fashions. Some of the different areas of fashion that the fashion designers have covered under their Dolce&Gabbana line include beachwear, underwear, corrective eyewear, sunglasses, fragrances, and purses. They also have a line called D&G, which tends to target the current and seasonal fashion needs of adults. D&G Junior follows the same concept, but it is designed for younger people. It’’s safe to say that Dolce and Gabbana has covered just about everyone’’s needs with the fashion lines that they carry. At one point, a special edition of Motorola cell phones were released under the Dolce and Gabbana name. The department stores which carry the fashions by Dolce and Gabbana include Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Throughout the United States, there are also seven Dolce and Gabbana boutiques. They are located in New York City, Beverly Hills, Long Island, Miami, Las Vegas, and Short Hills. |
